Create a Comfortable and Warm Snug
A recent project in Packington Leicestershire saw the revamp of an unused study. The brief was to create a comfortable and warm ‘snug’ whilst retaining the fresh and light tones the client preferred.
We set to work with our client Dodie (& her gorgeous pooch Dixie) narrowing down fresh colours and warm accents. We decided upon 2 complimentary warm creams for the walls from Farrow & Ball, Clunch & String. For the window luxurious Designers Guild slubbed silk worked perfectly for the curtains in a rich cream with a contrast band of gold to enhance the pinch pleat detailing. The window was finished with a statement gold detail curtain pole with custom made holdbacks.
We kept the furniture to a minimum with a delicate gold detail occasional table and tallboy. The sofa was chosen for its fresh colour, simplicity and comfort and dressed with silk accent cushions in rich golds and russets. However not to forget a matching custom made dog bed!
The room was completed with warming antique style picture wall lights showcasing Dodies select artworks and warm gold candle holders for room ambience.
Fresh warm and usable, our client relaxes in the space every day and was delighted with the end result.
